Mental Health Support Team (MHST)
We are really pleased to be involved with the NHS Mental Health Support Team project, working with (amongst other team members) Nicola Boswell, Morven Parker and Katie Brunskill to help support our children to better understand mental health and our feelings. This is a new project in the county that delivers evidence-based psychological interventions in school, specifically for children with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
The three core functions of the MHST are:
•Delivering evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues
•Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school or college approach
•Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education

Referrals
For any parents that would like to make a referral for their child, please first enquire about this with Mr Wright at school who would then follow this up in a consultation with MHST if it is appropriate.
Podcasts
Below you will find the MHST podcasts, which are a really great tool for parents to listen into and/or share relevant parts with their child. The podcasts are about 10 minutes long and offer tips on topics such as sleep, health, food and much more. We would encourage parents to listen to the podcasts themselves first before sharing sections with their child.
There is a also link to a survey which will help the NHS team influence further podcasts:
